Residents will by now have received a Community Update Letter from Taylor Wimpey regarding the proposed development of land east of Barton-le-Clay. A copy of the letter can be viewed here BLC – Resident update letter.
The planning application relating to this development, to build up to 500 new homes, a lower/primary school and provision of public open space with associated infrastructure and earthworks East of Barton-le-Clay on the Higham Gobion Road can be viewed here
Due to the size of the proposed development and impact on the village the Parish Council decided to instruct a planning specialist for advice and to help formulate our response. The Parish Council has objected to the development and a copy of the objection can be viewed here 2021-07-19 Response to CBC from Barton PC Final
The Parish Councils objection was submitted prior to the formal adoption of Central Bedfordshire Council’s Local Plan on 22nd July 2021 which now allows the release of this land for development. As you will see from Taylor Wimpeys update letter they are now holding a consultation and welcome residents feedback on their draft Development Brief. This brief will influence the design objectives and principles of future development on land east of Barton-le-Clay.
This may be our last opportunity to influence this application so we would urge parishioners to make their views known. You can do this by visiting their website wwww.taylorwimpey.co.uk/barton-le-clay or clicking here. Taylor Wimpeys consultation will run until 25th September.
